Overview
One of the best things about the Hornby Hobbies brands is their broad appeal, effortlessly uniting young and old, men and women to create ever-lasting bonds.
It has been this way for over a century, since 1901 when Frank Hornby applied for his first patent for āImprovements in Toy or Educational Devices for Children and Young Peopleā, which later became Meccano. The business quickly expanded to include Hornby-branded products until it was taken over in 1964 by Tri-ang.
Hornby became independent again in 1980 and over the years purchased many brands that are still under the Hornby Hobbies umbrella today, including Airfix, CORGI, Scalextric and Pocher. Phoenix Asset Management took over in 2017 and has been instrumental in turning the company into the portfolio of forward-thinking yet nostalgic brands that it covers today. All their brands remain at the forefront of their industry, striving to lead the way in innovation as they have done for over 100 years.
Youāll now find Hornby Hobbies brands online and in all good model shops around the world.
